Review of Me Before You Movie and an Emotional Movie Night with My Daughter

Last night was movie night with my teen daughter since the boys were out enjoying a rock concert for the evening.  I decided to share my review of Me Before You because I was truly moved by this story.  It was number one on my daughter's list of movies to watch and I am so glad we watched it together.  It was incredibly emotional but gave us a few good things to talk about after the movie was finished.  I would classify this one as a romantic tragedy I think with the primary talking points being assisted suicide and living your life as boldly … [Read more...]

FX Better Things: The Full Motherhood Experience In One Funny TV Show

This post about FX Better Things has been sponsored by FX Networks and Better Things, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own. Have your kids ever done anything so incredibly hilarious that you had to laugh?  But really SHOULDN'T laugh because that would send a really bad message?  Are there days that you find yourself hiding in the bathroom just trying to get a few peaceful moments to yourself?  Or maybe you are the mom that hides cookies in a trail mix box just so your kids don't eat them all before you get your chocolate … [Read more...]

Daddy’s Home Movie: Who Wins the Cool Dad Award?

When my kids were little, I stayed at home with them. All day. EVERY day. I spent hours cooking for them, cleaning up after them and trying to convince them to wear pants.  Some days I was successful.  Other days, it was just too much to hope for.  No matter how much time I spent with them, all I heard was 'When is daddy getting home?' Really kid?  What is mom, chopped liver?  But, of course, dad is FUN.  Sure, he's a responsible guy and works a steady job.  But when he gets home, his job is to play with the kids.  When I first saw the trailer … [Read more...]

A Royal Night Out Movie Trailer: A Glorious Evening in the Lives of Two Real-life Princesses

A Royal Night Out Movie Trailer post has been sponsored, but all opinions are my own. As the mother of two teenagers, I have learned a few key things about them.  Teenagers know everything about every subject known to man and YOU, my dear parent, are rarely right.  They want to experience life to it's fullest but don't quite have the best judgment to deal with everything life throws at them.  These traits are not unique to my own teenagers.  Teens from the beginning of time have been itching to explore the world, grab life by the horns and … [Read more...]

Do You Watch Commercials? A Sneak Peek at the Kia #Hamsters! #kiasocialclub

This post about the Kia hamster commercials has been sponsored by Kia and Social Chorus but all opinions expressed here are my own.  Back in the days of my youth we were deprived of a number of the high tech toys that are available today.  There were no iPods for music...we listened to stereos that took up the top of an entire bureau.  We used telephones that had cords.  And there was no such thing as fast forwarding through a commercial.   You sat and WATCHED them.  And there were some mighty fine commercials back then, too!  Remember the … [Read more...]

One Direction: This Is Us Atlanta Movie Screening Ticket Giveaway

If you have a teenage daughter like I do, chances are pretty good that you have heard of the popular boy band One Direction.  In fact, I can honestly say that I hear a LOT about them.  Every. Single. Day!  My daughter has One Direction CDs and posters and knows the lyrics to just about every song they sing.  So, when I got a press invite to a local screening of the upcoming One Direction: This Is Us movie I knew that I was going to be the best mom EVER if I took my daughter to see this!  If you haven't heard about the One Direction: This Is Us … [Read more...]
