My family just got back from a week in Saint Augustine, Florida and if I thought Georgia was hot in the summer…WOW! The heat and humidity was absolutely suffocating down there last week! I went through 4 containers of sunscreen, put a 2 hour beach limit on all of us, and our shower in the cottage was running almost constantly. Just walking through the historic district for a couple of hours had us soaking with sweat and slightly sun burnt! Needless to say, between the sunscreen, the frequent showers and the low level sunburn I had all week, my skin is not particularly happy with me right now. When I got home, the first thing I did was start looking for sugar scrub recipes to make for a bit of skin pampering this week.

While I as gone on vacation, my garden kept right on growing and I came home to a whole bunch of cucumbers and fresh basil. I decided that a cucumber basil sugar scrub was the perfect summer DIY beauty recipe for my dry summer skin. I removed the seeds from the cucumber and only used a couple leaves of basil since it is a very strong smell. Cucumbers have amazing health benefits. Check out HealthBeautyTips.net for great info about the health benefits of cucumbers!
