Many years ago I became suspicious of the ingredients in most traditional microwave popcorns. The ingredient list was just a tad too long for my liking no matter how convenient those little packages were. I invested in a hot air popcorn popper and am now much happier about my popcorn snacking habit. Of course, hot air popcorn with nothing on it tastes rather bland. Sure, plain might be healthier but my mouth craves the flavor of popcorn seasoning every once in a while. If you are trying to include more healthy snacks in your diet, popcorn is a good choice. Top your popcorn with a shake of this Nacho Cheese Popcorn Seasoning if you are looking for a balance between healthy and delicious!
I made this Nacho Cheese Popcorn Seasoning Recipe with Cabot Cheddar Shake which is truly a delicious shake-able cheese product. Ingredients are rather simple: Vermont Cheddar Cheese, Cheddar Cheese, whey, dry buttermilk, salt and disodium phosphate (to keep it from clumping). In addition to this nacho cheese popcorn seasoning recipe, I have also used this on pasta and I love it. Cabot Cheese is one of my favorite cheese brands and they don't disappoint with this cheese powder!
So, grab a few spices and head over to buy Cabot Cheddar Shake on Amazon (affiliate link!) for your next popcorn fix!

That looks great! I've never thought of making my own popcorn seasoning before. That's awesome!

I love this recipe. It's cool that I can make it myself and the re-purpose an old spice jar to store it in.

I'm not a fan of flavored popcorn. My dad loves this kind of stuff though.

We love the nacho cheese flavor, but I have never really thought of making my own popcorn seasoning. I will have to try this.

What a great idea for nacho flavor loving folks! I haven't seen the Cheddar Shake yet but if if they had a gluten-free version I'd totally get it if I saw it.
Diane
You are in luck, val, because it IS gluten free! If you shop on amazon they do carry it!
