This wine spritzer recipe and review of the Brancott Estate Flight Song Wines is part of an Ambassador Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Brancott Estate Wines. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.

My husband and I love to sit down together after dinner to enjoy a few minutes of relaxation together.  After a chaotic day of work, errands, and dealing with the everyday stresses of life we have found that a cocktail and a few minutes of idle conversation helps us stay connected to each other.  During the winter months, we love to enjoy a red wine by the fireplace but once the weather warms up we find ourselves heading outside to the patio to enjoy the garden, the fish pond and the early evening sunshine!  When I was asked by Mom Central to try out the new Brancott Estates Flight Song Wines I was excited to share them with my husband.  Spring and Summer are the perfect time to enjoy a lighter white wine during your evening cocktail hour!

Brancott Estate Flight Song

Brancott Estate Flight Song wines are offered as a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and a Marlborough Pinot Grigio.  They are made using grapes harvested earlier in the season when their sugar levels are naturally lower. As a result, this wine that is naturally 20 percent lower in calories than other wines of the same variety.  Honestly, though, you would never know that these wines are low calorie!
White WInes for Wine Spritzers
My first impression of the Brancott Estate Flight Song Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc was that it was very refreshing.  I definitely noted a hint of citrus and the tasting notes indicate that it is a blend of pink grapefruit and passion fruit with hints of ripe lemon.  It would pair beautifully with mild flavored seafood, chicken or pork dishes. Brancott Estate Flight Song Marlborough Pinot Grigio  has a slightly more floral note to it.   It combines peach notes with and guava and sweet lemon to created a wonderful balanced taste. I thought that it had a slightly more fruity flavor to it than the Sauvignon Blanc without being overly sweet.  I enjoyed both of these wines with a plate of brie, drizzled with maple syrup, topped with walnuts and warmed just enough to make it soft enough to put on crackers.  The light flavor went beautifully with brie since it is such a mild flavored cheese.
I decided to create a lightly sweet lemon lime wine spritzer to share with my husband out on the patio.  This wine spritzer recipe took only minutes to make and had an incredibly fresh and light flavor.  If you are looking for a delicious summer cocktail recipe, the Brancott Estate Flight Song wines were a wonderful pairing for this wine spritzer recipe!

Yum! I'm not a fan of spritzers as a rule, but yours looks so refreshing. We're going on vacation this week - I'm going to make this while we're away!
