The last few weeks have been crazy with all the baking, shopping, wrapping and decorating.  It's easy sometimes to choose the fastest possible gifts and decor solutions when you are pressed for time.  Keep in mind, however, that making homemade gifts gives a personal touch to your holiday gift giving.  I have been making homemade candy for my family, friends and neighbors for years and this year I added a new one.  This chocolate chip cookie dough truffle recipe is incredibly easy to make.  Your gift recipient will love the personal touch you put into your holiday giving.  Don't worry, you can find all the ingredients in your local grocery store. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffle Recipe

This chocolate chip cookie dough truffle recipe is a quick and easy homemade gift idea or a delicious dessert for any night of the week.

Prep Time 2 hours

Total Time 2 hours

Ingredients

• ½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
• ¾ cup light brown sugar, packed
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
• 1 cup miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips
• chocolate bark, to melt for dipping
• sprinkles, chopped nuts, etc (optional for topping the truffles)

Instructions

2. Combine the butter, brown sugar, vanilla, flour and sweetened condensed milk in a mixer bowl
3. Mix until smooth and completely combined
4. Stir in mini chocolate chips
5. Chill dough 1 to 2 hours
6. Using a teaspoon or miniature (1 inch) ice cream scoop, scoop out small amounts onto a cookie sheet lined with wax paper
7. Roll each dough ball between your hands until it forms a smooth, 1 inch or so ball
8. Melt your chocolate wafers in a double boiler
9. Dip each dough ball into the melted chocolate. Let the excess chocolate drip off. Turn back onto a sheet of wax paper
10. If desired, add sprinkles or chopped nuts to the top for decoration
11. Let harden
12. Store at room temperature for up to 1 to 2 weeks
