Today has been one of those days where momma really needs some alone time. Ever have one of those days? The bird won't stop squawking, the phone keeps on ringing and my daughter wants to play me her flute concert....all while my head feels like it is going to explode from a PMS headache.  I managed to make dinner and take my son's pants to the dry cleaner so I am calling today a success.  Momma is going to treat herself to a hot shower before bed and I needed a new sugar scrub recipe to try.  This banana cream sugar scrub takes only minutes to make and will leave your skin soft and shiny.  Here are just a few of the benefits of this sugar scrub on your skin:

Bananas:  Contain vitamin C and B6 which help maintain the elasticity of your skin.  They also contain antioxidants to protect your skin from free radicals which can lead to premature aging.

Cream: The fats in the cream help soften the skin and milk products are a great anti inflammatory if you have skin problems.  It will also leave the skin looking more radiant.

Sugar:  Sugar is a natural humectant, which means it draws moisture from the environment into the skin.  It also acts as a gentle exfoliant.

Vanilla and Nutmeg:  Just make it smell good!

If you are looking for a sugar scrub to help relax you after a hectic day I think this banana cream sugar scrub makes a great choice.  The recipe below will make up enough for TWO generous showers.  You can either halve the recipe if you only want to make enough for tonight or you can store the extra in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.  Trust me, tomorrow has a good chance of being just as stressful as today was!  I may just be back in another hot shower tomorrow night to scrub my stress away!
