This post about how to Find Your Perfect Car Match has been sponsored but all opinions expressed here are my own.
When my husband and I moved to the Atlanta area, we were young, expecting a new baby and incredibly active in dog training and competition. We had very specific needs for our new car. It had to be an extended cab pickup truck with a cap on the back. It would give us room for car seats within the cab itself and room for our two shepherds and all their training gear in the back. Unfortunately, it was the very first year that any car manufacturer was making such a thing so we had to buy new. It was pricey but worth it to get what we needed. As the kids and dogs got older, we did less dog training and more adventuring and the truck still kept on hauling. At least, for a while.
As with most cars, the older our beloved truck got, the worse it's suspension and shocks became. And as the kids got older, our adventures have taken a slight turn. While the kids used to be thrilled with a drive to the lake and a lazy day swimming, we started wanting to take more....adventurous...trips. We wanted to climb mountains and explore back woods trails that our beloved old truck just couldn't handle. Since my husband takes a van pool to work, we weren't really concerned too much about gas mileage on a second vehicle. It would be mostly for weekend adventuring and occasional errands. So, my husband and I went looking for something FUN. And we found his beloved Black Beauty. She has taken us a few places that I wasn't sure we would make it out of!
Finding our perfect 4 wheel drive vehicle wasn't quite as easy as our previous car buying experience. We knew what we wanted but were NOT willing to buy new. That meant we had to do some shopping around and some comparing of prices, features, mileage, etc. We found the perfect car for our personal needs but it took a bit of patience and perseverance. I'm definitely glad we bought it but wish the process had been easier. Of course, I am about to buy a third car in the next year or so and I plan on doing things a bit differently this time around!
These two teens are just as adventurous as ever, only now they are getting ready to drive. That is a terrifying thought, to be honest. They might crave adventure but I firmly plan on putting them behind the wheel of the most boring, safe, reliable vehicle that I can find. That is where Capital One’s Auto Navigator site comes in.
