I have been working out almost every day for the last several months and you know what I have come to realize? Exercise makes me hungry. Not just a tad bit hungry, either. We are talking 'get out of my way and let me into the pantry' type of hunger. Since I don't always make good eating decisions when hungry (HELLO, package of chocolate cookies!) I am trying to make sure the meals I eat will keep me filled up for while. Breakfast is my favorite meal and the last time I was at Kroger I picked up a canister of Old Fashioned Quaker® Oats so I could make this easy overnight oats recipe. If you love oatmeal and getting creative with flavors, Quaker® Oats has a project for you!

This easy overnight oats recipe is so simple anyone can make it. There is NO cooking involved, which is awesome for incredibly busy moms who have way too many things to do in the morning. You can make these overnight oats with any dairy or non dairy beverage. I chose almond milk and added a little maple syrup to sweeten it a bit.
I like to soak the oats overnight in a sealed mason jar. Mainly because I just know that my teenagers would dump over an open bowl in the fridge in their haste to get to their next snack. After soaking overnight, just dump into a bowl, add your 'mix ins' and enjoy!
You can add all sorts of delicious and healthy ingredients to this easy overnight oats recipe. I chose blueberries since they are my all time favorite fruit and added pecans since I have tons of them left over from holiday baking. I also added a sprinkle of ground flax seed meal which gives the oatmeal a nice, nutty flavor. There are so many combinations of flavors to choose from that the possibilities are endless!

My wife and I have been trying to eat healthier, so this idea may help a lot. Some of the diets my wife has been looking at include flax seed more often than not.

I really love the idea of the overnight oats, that way you can just grab and go in the morning. I really need to start having a few jars of these in the fridge. Great idea. #client

This is such an easy idea, I have to buy some mason jars. There are so many recipes out there to make life more prepared with good foods using mason jars! My middle loves oatmeal so this would be perfect for him!
Diane
I have quite the supply of mason jars and use them for so many things!

This looks good. I've only ever had hot oatmeal, though, so this intrigues me, lol. Have you ever tried adding dried fruits to it the night before?
Diane
I haven't but it would probably taste delicious!
Greg
I added black walnuts mmmmm
